VACANCY FOR BUILDING CUSTODIAN

COLLINSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Location: 1st and 2nd Floor

Work Day: (3:30 p.m.- 11:30 p.m.)

Work Year: 12 months

Salary & Work Cond: Link to Collective Bargaining Agreement

Supervises: None

Job Goal: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. Physically able to perform responsibilities.
3. Good character.
4. Professional appearance (uniforms provided).
5. Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education or Administration finds appropriate and acceptable.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times.
2. Shovel, plow, and sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
3. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
4. Clean office area, cafeteria, gym, classrooms, and faculty lounge.
5. Refresh all restrooms (refill dispensers, empty trash, flush toilets, and clean mirrors).
6. Keep halls and steps clean.
7. Open necessary doors.
8. Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep and repair.
9. Dry and wet mop floors.
10. Stock custodial closet with supplies.
11. Vacuum any area rugs.
12. Keep drinking fountains free of debris.
13. Do minor grass cutting
14. Comply with local law and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
15. Fill out biweekly custodial time sheet and turn into lead custodian.
16. Be on-call for the office staff for any spills or emergencies that should arise.
17. Other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Director of Building & Grounds, lead custodian, or principal.
