We are looking for a Building Automation Systems Technician to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The incumbent would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The Building Automation Systems Technician is responsible for ensuring that NRC’s building automation systems (BAS) are appropriate, operational, maintained and updated to meet the ever-growing monitoring requirements of our complex scientific buildings. This includes network design, troubleshooting, repair work, improvements and the management of external service providers.
As the BAS subject matter expert, the incumbent will provide training, technical support and operational guidance to other trades personnel working with direct digital controls (DDC). The specialist will ensure the control systems deliver effective energy management, operate safely, and that network data is securely protected and backed up. The role also involves system analysis using automation software and programming changes to enhance operation and energy efficiency.
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Systems or in a field relevant to the position.
An equivalent combination of a trade certificate in HVAC or Electrical and experience may also be considered.
