In this role, you'll:
Join the Suburban Services Team at Sydney Trains, delivering building maintenance activities across an allocated region to ensure all building assets are maintained effectively and in compliance with WHS and Sydney Trains requirements.
You will proactively manage a high volume of repair and maintenance work, including undertaking hands on repairs, coordinating contractors, and contributing to the development and continuous improvement of maintenance processes, procedures, and plans. As an Asset Maintainer, you will play a key role in ensuring maintenance activities support both current operational needs and future organisational requirements.
This is a full time permanent position based in Central, with regular travel to other allocated sites as required. Hours of work are Monday to Friday between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with availability required for weekend work, overtime, and on call support as operational needs arise.

About you
You are a trade qualified professional from a Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, or Building background, with proven experience in a building maintenance or construction environment. You bring a solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, and station maintenance procedures and are comfortable working with minimal supervision.
You demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills, enabling you to identify defects, assess risks, and determine appropriate maintenance actions. You communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication and are confident using computer based systems and workflows to receive, manage, and complete maintenance tasks.
Safety is central to how you work. You have a strong understanding of WHS legislation and take a proactive approach to identifying and managing hazards to ensure safe outcomes for staff, contractors, and customers. You are customer focused, collaborative, and contribute positively to team outcomes while actively seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
A current driver’s licence and the ability to participate in a 24/7 on call, call out, and weekend work roster for emergency asset response are essential.
