At Wellways, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to contribute. We warmly welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with lived experience of mental health challenges or disability, people from multicultural backgrounds, and people who identify as LGBTIQA+. We recognise that diverse experiences and perspectives strengthen our workforce and the communities we support.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals are an important part of Victoria’s reformed mental health and wellbeing system. The Victorian Government has committed to establishing 50 Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals.
In East Gippsland, Wellways, La Trobe Regional Health and Gippsland Lakes Complete Health are working together to offer an easy way to access care and support for people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health concerns – including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug support and care needs and their family, carers, and supporters. This service will make it easier for the participant to access the support they need, closer to home and family, carers, and support networks.
As the Build and Bridge Team Leader at Wellways, you will provide inspiring leadership and support to a dedicated team, fostering an inclusive, consumer- and community-led, and values-driven culture. You will play a key role in the Local Service Leadership Group, leading the team to deliver meaningful outcomes for participants, supporting people on their mental health and recovery journeys, and strengthening awareness of the East Gippsland Mental Health and Wellbeing Local.
You will champion community connection and inclusion by building strong relationships, leading outreach initiatives and creating opportunities to engage with people and communities who may face barriers to accessing support. Working alongside individuals, community groups and local services, you will help build capacity, strengthen connections and promote healthy, empowered communities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Victoria's ongoing mental health reform and help shape a service system where choice, connection and community-led care are at the heart of everything we do.
Wellways connects people, strengthens families, and transforms communities for individuals of all ages experiencing disabilities or challenges to their social and emotional wellbeing.
