Under the general direction of the University Budget Director, the Budget Analyst II performs complex budget and financial analysis in support of the University’s operating budget. This position has primary responsibility for position management and salary budget administration and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple enterprise systems.
The incumbent works independently to process budget transactions, perform financial forecasting, reconcile accounts, and support fiscal year-end processes. The role also serves as a resource to campus departments, providing guidance on budget policies, procedures, and financial systems. This position operates in a professional office environment and requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental budgeting and accounting;
Working knowledge of the principles and practices of public finance;
Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills (i.e., financial and data analysis, multiple fund sources).
Ability to monitor and reconcile financial activity, as well as assist to make financial projections and prepare related reports (e.g. budgeting and reconciliation for capital projects, multiple fund sources).
Ability to take the initiative, anticipate problems, and assist in solving issues in a timely manner;
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment;
Ability to assist to formulate well-reasoned courses of action of solutions to problems.
