Job Description

We're looking for a Budget Analyst to join our team!

We're seeking a Budget Analyst to be a key part of our nimble analysis team that delivers key insights to help GMP deliver great service while holding down costs for our customers. This role is an opportunity to use your financial, analytical, and software skills in a dynamic team environment.

What you will do

  • Work with Department managers to develop annual O&M budgets.
  • Work with Capital project managers to help them develop financial support for upcoming initiatives
  • Be the primary administrator of the company's industry standard software used in the budgeting process.
  • Help GMP meet budgeting and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with monthly financial closing and variance analysis.
  • Assist with monthly rolling forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial accounting and 4-year accounting degree (regulated utility/public accounting experience a plus).
  • Strong technology aptitude to learn and leverage solutions for communication, analysis, and efficient workflows, including GMP's utility financial software. Excel experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate accounting concepts to those without accounting expertise.
  • Ability to work independently and with multiple deadlines in a dynamic organization.
  • Ability to steer and coordinate multiple operations while delivering high quality results.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
  • Skillful in developing and building successful internal and external relationships.

Location

Can be either our Colchester or Rutland, Vermont office.

Compensation

As part of our commitment to fair and open hiring practices, we disclose compensation. This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000-$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the scope of responsibilities.
