And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

An exciting opportunity to work in EY’s Business Tax Advisory – Quantitative Services (“QS”) team specialized in Capitalization and Fixed Assets practice. You will support Ernst & Young’s National Tax Department (NTD) which serves high-profile, national and multinational clients and is led by nationally recognized tax professionals who represent some of the firm’s most senior tax talent. We provide a range of domestic and international transactional tax planning services and tax-related advisory services. The combination of knowledge and experience forms the basis for National Tax's ability to assist clients in determining and implementing appropriate tax planning.

The opportunity

We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior professional in our Capitalization and Fixed Assets practice. The role integrates technical tax analysis, data transformation, Vector-enabled fixed asset processing, and accounting method change support. Working closely with U.S. engagement teams and the local team, the Senior will own defined workstreams for complex clients, review work prepared by junior team members, manage priorities and risks, and deliver accurate, well-supported outputs in accordance with engagement requirements and current guidance.

Your key responsibilities

In this role, you will lead detailed fixed asset and accounting method change analyses from scoping through delivery. Responsibilities include preparing and validating complete populations; profiling, cleansing, mapping, reconciling, and testing high-volume data; selecting and evaluating samples; documenting assumptions and exceptions; and converting source data into review-ready Vector templates and workpapers. Technical work may include Tangible Property Regulations analyses, capitalization-versus-repair studies, qualified improvement property analyses, depreciation methods and recovery periods, bonus depreciation, section 179 considerations, and related accounting method changes. The Senior will also prepare or support Form 3115 packages, including applicable statements, schedules, designated accounting method change information, and section 481(a) adjustment calculations, and may assist with accurate completion of Form 2848 or other engagement forms when required and within the approved engagement scope. All conclusions must be supported, reconciled, and escalated where judgment or specialist review is required.

Additional Senior Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned workstreams, manage milestones and risks, and provide clear status updates to engagement leadership.
  • Analyze and review large fixed asset, general ledger, invoice, and depreciation data sets to identify anomalies, gaps, duplicates, and classification risks.
  • Manage Vector data preparation, including field mapping, standardization, validation, error resolution, source reconciliation, and audit trail documentation.
  • Use advanced Excel and approved data tools to cleanse, transform, validate, and report data, while identifying automation and process-improvement opportunities.
  • Review Vector templates, calculations, depreciation outputs, and workpapers for accuracy, completeness, and methodological consistency.
  • Support accounting method change analyses and prepare review-ready Form 3115 statements, schedules, and section 481(a) adjustment workpapers.
  • Assist with Form 2848 and related authorization documentation, as required within the engagement scope.
  • Apply sound judgment, document conclusions, and promptly escalate complex technical or data issues.
  • Review junior team members’ work, provide actionable feedback, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Build trusted relationships with U.S. engagement teams through clear communication and effective issue resolution.
  • Coach junior team members on data analysis, Vector processes, fixed asset concepts, method-change workpapers, and documentation standards.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and finance,
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience/knowledge of accounting methods and fixed assets used in various industries, real estates and commercial buildings
  • Advanced use experience with Microsoft Excel and Access,
  • Additional accounting related certifications is a plus, and
  • A combination of engineering and accounting background will be an additional value to this profile (B.E., MBA (Finance and accounting)).

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong time management and task management skills and working with different engagement teams
  • Ability to handle and manage multiple concurrent engagement timelines and stakeholders
  • Ability to lead conversations with proper communication skills, and to be flexible.

What we look for

  • We are seeking a Senior professional who combines strong technical knowledge of capitalization and fixed assets with advanced data-analysis, project-management, and review capabilities.
  • The successful candidate will exercise professional judgment, independently manage complex workstreams, transform large and varied data sets into reliable tax workpapers, and communicate clear conclusions to U.S. engagement teams.
  • This opportunity is well suited to a critical thinker who can identify data issues, resolve exceptions, improve processes, and coach junior team members.
