Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing and supporting MS SQL Database including Failover Cluster, Always ON Setup and new server provisioning, Transaction replication, Link Servers, Hardening, and patching in day-to-day operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Monitor generated log and event files indicating errors that will result in an incident 2) DR Database availability Monitoring 3) Monitor database log replication 4) Report Status of Log Replications as per agreed schedules 5) Session/Query/Log/Latch monitoring 6) Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate an imminent failure 7) Purging database Logs and trace files 8) Periodic config review to maintain consistent configurations 9) Review and recommendation to maintain availability 10) Monthly report on database availability 11) Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate imminent failure. 12) Reinstall Database software 13) Reconfigure log Shipping 14) Transaction replication Configuration 15) Link Servers configuration 16) Failover clustering 17) Always ON 18) Responding to database related incidents and driving corrective action 19) Tuning DB parameters 20) Correlate related incidents together into a problem ticket and manage through the problem management process 21) Use trend analysis to identify, detail, categorize, prioritize and create Problems Management Records. 22) Restoration of database 23) Creating jobs/job schedule for routine/Maintenance jobs & Rebuilding of indexes 24) Purging database Logs and trace files & Performance Management 25) Defragmentation of Database and performance tuning 26) Manage all Service requests through the change management process 27) Automate administration tasks where possible 28) Manage and update all Database environment documentation Technical Skills/Knowledge Requirement 1) Database Installation and troubleshooting (Must) 2) Always ON Cluster configuration and Management (Must) 3) Failover Cluster Management (Must) 4) patching and Failover cluster and Always ON (Must) 5) Replication and Link Server configuration (Must) 6) Database Patching and Hardening (Must) 7) Job Scheduling and Maintenance plan 8) Database Migration (Must) 9) Troubleshooting on DB performance issue.
