About the Program: Join our Certified Nurse Aide Training Program at Bronson Commons in Mattawan, MI—an award-winning post-acute care facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your healthcare career while gaining hands-on experience as you pursue further education in nursing or allied health professions.

Eligibility:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Earning Your Certification:

  • Participants are hired as full-time employees.
  • Receive comprehensive training, including classroom lessons, clinical demonstrations, hands-on practice, and test preparation.
  • Bronson covers certification costs, and you are compensated during training.
  • Successful candidates will take the State of Michigan's CNA certification exam upon completion.

Facility Overview: Bronson Commons is a 100-bed facility specializing in short-term nursing care and therapy. Recognized as a "Best Nursing Home" by U.S. News & World Report (2013-2023), we offer both short-term and long-term care in a supportive environment.

CNA Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Communicate with nursing staff regarding resident care and status.
  • Respond to residents' needs via call lights and assist with toileting and repositioning.
  • Serve meals and assist residents requiring help.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, documenting care provided.

Qualifications:

  • Current Michigan CNA Registry or proof of completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training program within 4 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with heavier tasks.
  • Work involves minimal mental/visual fatigue (less than 20% of work time).
