Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Broking Manager – Reinsurance to lead client servicing, business development, and placement operations within the reinsurance division.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with cedants and reinsurers, driving new business opportunities, supervising the placement team, and ensuring successful conversion of quotations and offers into bound placements. The role requires strong market knowledge, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage the end-to-end broking process.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, insurers, and reinsurers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key reinsurance accounts.
  • Understand client requirements and provide tailored reinsurance solutions.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term retention.


Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across local and international markets.
  • Expand the company's reinsurance portfolio through strategic networking and relationship building.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and industry events to promote services.
  • Achieve assigned revenue and growth targets.


Placement & Broking Operations

  • Supervise and manage the entire placement process from submission to binding.
  • Coordinate with reinsurers and markets to obtain competitive terms and quotations.
  • Review offers, negotiate pricing and coverage terms, and ensure optimal placements for clients.
  • Drive the conversion of quotations and offers into successful bound placements.
  • Ensure timely issuance of slips, cover notes, contracts, and placement documentation.


Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the broking and placement team.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure service standards and deadlines are met.
  • Support team development through coaching and technical guidance.
  • Allocate accounts and oversee workflow management.


Market & Technical Expertise

  • Maintain strong knowledge of reinsurance market trends, pricing, capacity, and regulatory developments.
  • Develop relationships with regional and international reinsurance markets.
  • Provide technical advice and support on treaty and facultative reinsurance placements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in reinsurance broking or underwriting.
  • Strong knowledge of treaty and/or facultative reinsurance.
  • Proven experience in client relationship management and business development.
  • Demonstrated success in handling placements and converting offers into bound business.
  • Previous team management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
