At Irish Life, our purpose is to help people build better futures. Our company values shape everything we do and underpin our vision of being the driving force behind Ireland’s financial, physical, and mental well-being.

We believe in doing the right thing—acting with integrity and making fair, responsible decisions. We aim high, setting ambitious goals and find better ways to innovate and improve. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and we are dedicated to understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations. Achieving this this is only possible when we work best together—in a supportive, collaborative environment where every idea and contribution is valued.

To support Irish Life’s ambition to grow in the retail intermediary market, we are seeking Brokerage Sales Support Specialists. Brokerage has ambitious plans for profitable growth under the Better Futures strategy in the coming years. This role will suit an ambitious individual with experience of dealing with intermediaries in a customer service or similar context, who is looking to develop their career by moving into a sales-related role.

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated people to play an important role in the effective delivery of Brokerage commercial objectives.

Team Background

You will join the Brokerage team within Irish Life, which is focused on driving profitable growth in the retail intermediary market. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Sales Support, you will work closely with Account Managers, Business Development Managers, senior management, brokers and internal stakeholders across the business.

The team plays a key role in delivering sales and retention targets, supporting brokers with day-to-day needs, and advancing Irish Life’s digital and self-service strategy within the broker channel.

What you will help us to achieve

In this role, you will:

  • Support Account Managers, Business Development Managers and senior management in the effective delivery of sales and retention targets.
  • Support new business development through the provision of quotations, handling sales and product queries, and managing pipeline activity.
  • Drive the eBusiness / self-service agenda with brokers to improve business efficiency.
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting the effective deployment of strategic digitalisation initiatives for Brokerage, driving operational efficiencies for both brokers and Irish Life.
  • Act as a key liaison between Brokerage Sales, brokers and Customer Service, developing and managing stakeholder relationships internally (cross-functionally) and externally with broker firms.
  • Gather feedback from brokers on how service can be improved, liaise with Customer Service to implement enhancements where appropriate, and ensure that issues are escalated appropriately when service breaks down.
  • Work with internal colleagues in Brokerage to identify and implement process improvements through local change initiatives.
  • Control literature supplies, identify local marketing initiatives with brokers and manage related campaigns.
  • Undertake structured or ad hoc project work aligned to Brokerage objectives and assist in the delivery of promotional roadshows and events.

What you will need to be successful in the role

You will bring:

  • A strong customer service delivery ethos.
  • An understanding of how brokers work, the commercial dynamics of the broker market, and Irish Life’s position within it.
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish Life’s Retail product suite.

You should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • A solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to manage a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and influence across the organisation without formal authority.
  • A strong drive for results and high standards of performance.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and remain calm under pressure, whilst delivering on a broad agenda with varied priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and a strong team ethic, with a willingness to support the Brokerage team in delivering its objectives.

Qualifications and experience

  • Must hold, or be committed to studying towards, Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) status.
  • Ideally at least 3+ years’ experience dealing with retail intermediaries, with a track record of delivering excellent service.
