Annual Compensation $70,304- $75,000 with a quarterly bonus potential

A restaurant General Manager oversees all aspects of FOH and BOH. Working closely with their corporate team, KM's and supervisors, they are responsible for ensuring that their restaurant is run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably, which often means making sure that the right people are in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.


Controllable:

- Ensuring that stores have proper inventory levels to serve guests and maintain an appropriate food/paper/chemical costs

- Ensure that the stores are properly staffed in each department and breaks are given when appropriate.

- GM must get final approval to all new hires, discipline action and terminations from DM.

- GM must control daily and weekly labor costs, scheduling appropriately and receiving approval from their DM

- Ensure that plates, glassware, utensils, and equipment are properly stored and cleaned to prevent loss and breakage- Vendor management working with GM with any issues or building new relationships.

- Manage controllables including but not limited to utilities, linens, chemicals, etc.


Cleanliness:

- Ensure that all FOH Areas and BOH Areas being properly cleaned

- Verify all daily/weekly checklists and cleaning lists are being completed

- All maintenance request and scheduling all preventative maintenance must be logged and communicated

- Maintain aesthetic appeal of the interior and exterior including upkeep of landscaping, parking areas, restrooms, fixtures, lighting, furniture, and decor

- Compliance with guidelines and regulations related to safe food handling, storage, and preparation

Communication:-

- Daily with Supervisors and KM/Kitchen Supervisors

- At least twice a week meeting with DM and corporate team

- Monthly/Quarterly meetings and trainings as required

- Marketing calls and meetings to grow sales

Service:

- Ensure that all positions are meeting the company standards in terms of timeliness and approach to a guest

- Food presentation, quality and timeliness are up to company standards

- Appearance of every staff member is appropriate including but not limited to clean non-slip shoes, shirt, pants, hair, etc.

- Staff are looking energetic, upbeat and on task

- Store management is monitoring and checking in with every department and touching tables to ensure that every guest has an exceptional experience


Employee Satisfaction and Performance:

- Team members feel supported by management while maintaining clear expectations - Ensure that store management is consistent with following through the company policies outlined by the employee handbook

- Constant feedback is given to staff members on opportunities to improve and acknowledging positive characteristics- Staff is feeling appreciated and well communicated with new specials or changes in the operations

- Resolving HR issues in a timely manner, and/or conducting any HR investigations if advised by HR.

- Working with the DM/KM/Supervisors to make sure disciplinary process is followed

- Performing Employee Reviews quarterly and provide feedback from DM.

Admin:

- Interviews and hiring: The GM conducts interviews for all positions

- Complete onboarding process with the employee and finalize paperwork

- Complete audits on employee roster and check validity of certifications

- Ensuring all employee files are kept up to date

- Daily, weekly, and monthly reports completed and submitted in a timely manner.

Money:

- Ensuring the Store has the necessary change to get through service weekly

- Ensuring accurate records are kept for deposits, withdrawals and checks

Training:

- Following Playlync to ensure that training is being properly done, cross training when necessary

- Looking for and developing new managers, promoting from within

- Ensure all supervisor are being trained in all aspects of the Restaurant so they are ready to stepinto new roles when they become available.

Fresh. Friendly. Family Owned. The Original Broken Yolk Cafe started in 1979 in Pacific Beach, a local beach community in San Diego, California. For years, wait lines ran out the door on weekends causing passers-by to stop in and give the restaurant a try. “Once they tried us, they were generally hooked. We’re known for high quality, homemade food and large portions,” says the brand owner.

After a 2009 feature on The Travel Channel’s Man vs Food introduced the brand to millions of viewers outside of Southern California, calls came in from would-be investors, causing the owners to seek help with a franchise expansion model. Now the hometown favorite has grown to 36 locations with 15 of them just in San Diego County and the rest spread across the United States.

Like any growing brand, we’ll continue to stay current with demographic trends, but our primary focus will always be on serving high quality food and giving each guest a great experience.
