This positionis responsible forproviding technicalassistanceto producers caring for the company's birdsregardingthe propercare and comfort. Duties would include, but are not limited to
Advising producersonbuilding and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
Visiting farmsto document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings,monitorbird health, and provideremedy when possible.
Monitoring feed consumption and ordering if necessary
Pulling blood and fat samplesasrequired
Coordinating chick placements to farms
Assistingwith catch schedules
Ensuring communicationamongHatchery,Feedmill, andLivehauldepartmentsregardingtheircontract farms
Ensuring compliance with the production contract tooptimizeflock quality and minimize costs
Ensuring adherence to all USDA and other government regulationsregardingpoultry handling.
Working with the Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements
Performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
Requirements
Education:Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience relevant to the position preferred.
Experience:1+ years’ experience in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.
Strong Communication Skills:Ability to convey information clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means. Proficiencyin active listening, ensuring mutual understanding, and adapting communication style to various audiences
Computer Skills:Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
Travel:1 to 5 trips per year.
Additional Requirement:Must not own, possess, or otherwisemaintainany domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.
