In this role, you'll:
Working within our Engineering & Maintenance Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of our Bridge Examiner will be conducting detailed examination of bridges, culverts and all other structures in conjunction with current standards and technical maintenance plan within a defined territory. You will be identifying defects and make recommendations for defect removal/ management.
In this role you will ensure certification of Technical Maintenance Plan to requirements by inspecting and certifying Structures Infrastructure Assets
About you
You will be responsible for identification and quantification of exceedents and non exceedents; taking appropriate action in accordance with defect categories
You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of Weekly Summary of Exceedent Reports, ensuring defect and examination reports are recorded in the Bridge Management System
You will ensure condition of infrastructure and inspection reports are recorded in appropriate databases Highlighting to Engineers/ Structures Coordinator & Team Manager/ Team Leader any issues
You will identify defects and the scope of work required for defect removal/ repairs including making recommendations for resources required and priority
You will also implement safety plans so all employees working on site are familiar with relevant OH&S, safe working, EEO and environmental safeguards for the work being undertaken including managing the site specific induction of new appointees and contractors with regards to structures
You will provide frontline structures technical advice and support to the Work Groups, partaking of your knowledge for the development of the team
This role will see you use specified management systems (such as Visual Management Cells) to plan and communicate work tasks, performance status, policies and procedures, safety and other information to the team and management
