This position will assist in managing, designing, and detailing bridge projects of a variety of sizes and complexities. The candidate will have the ability to network with clients of a diverse culture of private, local, state, and federal agencies.

The work is predominantly office based. However, some work in the field will be required at times. Working in a variety of environments with the appropriate safety procedures and equipment may include working at heights, confined spaces, near highway vehicle traffic and ariel lift platforms.

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with an emphasis in bridge engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited university
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Internship in the structural design of bridges and/or buildings and similar structures preferred.
  • Successful completion of the following: structural/bridge engineering course work (preferred): Prestressed Design, Reinforced Concrete Design, Steel Design, Structural Dynamics or Earthquake Engineering, Foundation Design, Timber Design.
  • Experience with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications and any Department of Transportation (WSDOT, IDT or ODOT) bridge design, bridge standard details, bridge design manuals or construction standards and protocols (preferred)
  • Experience with computer analysis software systems including AutoCAD, PGSuper, Risa 3D, MathCAD, and Bluebeam Revu (preferred)
  • Experience working as part of a multi-discipline design team (preferred)
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.

Salary range: $74,000-$81,000.
