Position Title: Breast Imaging Radiologist – Diagnostic Radiology
Location: Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA
Department: Department of Radiology
Position Type: Full-time
Academic Rank: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (commensurate with experience)

Tufts Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Breast Imaging Radiologist to join our renowned Department of Radiology. This position involves performing health assessments, conducting diagnostic tests, diagnosing and managing breast-related health conditions, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in breast imaging and diagnostic radiology, with proficiency in mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and image-guided biopsies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic tests for patients with breast conditions, including mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided biopsies.
  • Interpret and analyze diagnostic images to diagnose and determine appropriate treatment plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including oncologists, surgeons, and pathologists, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct regular rounds and discussions with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  • Provide patient education on health conditions, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and interpretation of clinical research, especially in breast imaging and related fields.
  • Mentor and teach medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to the academic mission of the Department of Radiology.
  • Stay current with advancements in breast imaging technologies and clinical practices through ongoing professional development and research.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committees to continuously enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient evaluations, diagnostic findings, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes in accordance with hospital standards.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiology with a fellowship in Breast Imaging.
  • A strong background in breast imaging modalities (mammography, ultrasound, MRI, image-guided biopsy).
  • Clinical expertise and experience in managing breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, and interventional procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, team-based environment.
  • Academic interest in clinical research, medical education, and teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction and teamwork.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to diverse patient populations.
  • Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The salary range for this position is $440,000.00 - $535,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
