Purpose of the role

Leverage consumer insights to ensure effective development and implementation of strategy to shape, grow and build brands.

This role has the responsibility of the driving the delivery on the NSV target for the brand(s) they are accountable for & full oversight on their brands A&P to deliver on the brand GM.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the annual strategic brand plan, ensuring thoughtful management of the allocated budget.
  • Analyze a variety of market research data, including secondary research, and identify opportunities to enhance brand strategies through inclusive and informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including promotions and media agencies, to foster a shared vision and deliver impactful, creative campaigns.
  • Partner closely with commercial teams to build alignment and enthusiasm around brand plans, ensuring seamless and effective execution.
  • Oversee brand advertising and promotional efforts to drive sustainable brand growth while fostering innovation and customer engagement.
  • Design and implement a thoughtful media strategy aligned with brand values and market insights.
  • Recommend and support public relations activities that authentically represent the brand and resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Monitor brand performance, including availability and sales, and proactively address factors influencing growth and market share.
  • Stay informed on competitor activity and market dynamics, taking strategic action as needed to maintain brand relevance and competitiveness.
  • Evaluate and recommend updates to brand packaging and extensions in collaboration with the Marketing Manager, ensuring inclusivity and customer appeal.
  • Regularly track brand costs and profitability, and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and responsible financial stewardship.
  • Prepare timely reports on brand expenditures and variances to support budget transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct regular trade visits to gain market intelligence and use these insights to inform and improve brand initiatives.
  • Engage with Regional Brand teams to share updates and collaborate on the successful implementation of strategic brand plans

Qualifications Required:

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Commerce Marketing or business degree or equivalent

Experience

  • 3-5 years marketing experience preferably in a FMCG environment.
  • Experienced in the development and execution of advertising strategies.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent campaign management, analytical and decision-making capability
