The Brand Engagement Coordinator supports Creative Services and Brand Strategy by coordinating school spirit initiatives, university event support, mascot appearances, and high-visibility engagement opportunities. The position helps strengthen Salisbury University’s brand presence and school spirit across campus and at athletic, institutional, community, and strategic university events.
The Brand Engagement Coordinator serves as the primary coordinator for the Sammy mascot program. Responsibilities include scheduling mascot appearances, recruiting and supporting student performers and handlers, coordinating event logistics, and helping maintain the mascot suit and related materials. The position helps ensure Sammy represents the University in a professional, spirited, and brand-aligned manner.
The position also supports Creative Services and Brand Strategy, Public Affairs, and other university departments by assisting with event staffing and support, photo opportunities, internal and external engagement efforts, and school spirit initiatives.
Authority and Accountability
9 student workers, no budgetary responsibility
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Basic writing, photography, social media, or design awareness
Experience with event planning, student leadership, athletics, communications, marketing, or customer service.
Experience coordinating student workers, volunteers, or event teams.
Familiarity with campus events, athletics, school spirit programs, or university traditions.
Additional Job Information:
The position is a Contingent II, full-time, non-exempt position.
