Job Description

Bring a brand to life at scale. Craft consistent, high-quality design across digital, social and member experiences.

About the role

The Brand Designer plays a key role in conceptualising and delivering high-quality design solutions across the HCF Group. As part of the in-house Creative Studio, this role works across a range of multi-channel digital and print applications, including web and mobile, brand communications, marketing collateral, campaigns, retail, events and creative assets to help drive brand awareness, consideration and enhance the member experience.

This is a brand-focused design role, with accountability for delivering consistent, high-quality creative that clearly communicates HCF’s brand identity, positioning and messaging across all touchpoints. The role spans conceptual thinking, strategic design and hands-on execution, taking work from ideation through to finished artwork and production.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the role contributes to the development and management of brand assets, ensuring all outputs align to brand standards and support a cohesive and trusted brand experience. There is also a strong focus on improving processes and contributing to an efficient, high-performing Creative Studio environment.

With a flexible hybrid working model (1–2 days in office), this is an opportunity to join a high-performing team and shape how the HCF brand evolves through a period of growth and transformation.

  • Proven ability to take work from concept through to execution, with a high level of attention to detail and a focus on delivering polished, on-brand outcomes.
  • Experience working within an in-house studio or agency environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to present work clearly and articulate design decisions in a way that connects to brand and strategic objectives.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with a focus on efficiency, continuous improvement and delivering outcomes that enhance the member experience. A genuine passion for design and pride in contributing to a consistent, high-quality and trusted brand.
  • Advanced Adobe CS skills: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro with a strong understanding of how these tools sync with Jira and DAM integrations

HCF Australia

About HCF Australia

For over 90 years, our members have trusted us to protect their health and wellbeing, and in return we’ve provided quality cover and healthcare that’s right for them.

Because as Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, we believe in delivering our members a level of care that’s uncommon.

From humble beginnings in 1932, we’ve grown to become the nation’s largest not-for-profit health fund, helping to protect the health and wellbeing of over 1.8 million Australians with health, life, travel or pet insurance. And we remain constant to our not-for-profit charter, continuing to provide the highest standard of healthcare while returning more benefits to our members.

We’re also proud of our many industry firsts. Over the years, we’ve been at the forefront of healthcare innovation, from introducing the first multicover plan to “cover the gap” in extras services, to opening one of the first health fund operated dental centre networks and launching Australia’s first on-demand injury cover*.

Because we believe in making healthcare understandable, affordable and high quality for our members, they’re empowered to make informed decisions about their health.

Through the HCF Catalyst program, we continue to invest in the future of Australia’s health by supporting small businesses with big ideas, and fund researchers working to improve health outcomes for all Aussies through the HCF Research Foundation.

We’re also committed to investing in the health and wellbeing of our staff. At HCF, we value diversity, inclusion and equality in the workplace, and are dedicated to creating a working culture where staff can flourish. We believe that giving employees a safe, healthy and sustainable work environment is a priority.
