We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Branch Manager.

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing team to drive business growth, enhance customer service, and ensure operational excellence. The Branch Manager shall lead, grow, and safeguard the branch’s operations while ensuring profitability, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with strong financial acumen, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to foster a culture of compliance and innovation. This role combines commercial acumen with expertise in Islamic banking to expand our business in alignment with Shariah compliance. Ultimately, a successful branch manager balances growth, compliance and leadership to ensure the branch thrives in a competitive banking environment.

Principal Responsibilities:

Business Growth & Wealth Management

  • Lead branch team to deliver the branch performance measures and plan as per IWPB strategy and other operational guidelines to achieve consistency of management of our people and delivery of service and sales to HSBC customers.
  • Use the principles and guidelines in IWPB business strategy to ensure customer needs are identified and suitable solutions are presented to customers for consideration.
  • Grow Wealth and Retail, plus Amanah, to deliver the business plans.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage & coach the team to drive performance with a hands-on style to grow sales, productivity, service quality and staff engagement.
  • To train, maintain and develop branch team to a level appropriate for the branch and commensurate with centrally agreed resource plans.
  • To use appropriate performance management tools and undertaking individual performance reviews to maximize effectiveness of the team.

Customer Satisfaction & Service Excellence

  • Champion a customer-first culture by setting high service standards and effectively resolving escalated issues.
  • Promote and encourage the use of digital banking platforms to improve customer convenience.
  • Uphold high integrity and ensure branch’s adherence to Shariah-compliant sales and service excellence.

Risks & Controls Oversight

  • Ensure embedment and oversight of risk and controls to mitigate fraud, operational risks and compliance gaps.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and compliance to banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Satisfactory audit findings including monitoring of Shariah non-compliance risks and incident escalation to Shariah Committee.

Data Quality & Operational Efficiency

  • Ensure high standards of data accuracy in customer records, transactions and reporting.
  • Optimise branch workflows to improve productivity and reduce errors.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to operations, sales and service quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-9 years of relevant experience in financial institution managing branch team.
  • Possess strong team leadership and management, problem solving skills, analytical skills, planning and organizing skills.
  • Knowledgeable and experience in Wealth and Retail sales.
  • Conversant in Shariah knowledge and competency.
  • Proven ability in relationship management in Wealth.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing and negotiating.
  • Coaching sales techniques, best practice and sales management on a team and one to one basis.
  • Attain appropriate professional, regulatory and internal qualifications as required.
