, a leading supplier of home appliances and electronics in East Africa and a key player in the HVAC industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced


HVAC Business Unit Manager

to join their
Mombasa

team to strategically lead and optimize the entire lifecycle of the HVAC business unit—covering business development, end-to-end project management, efficient inventory control, and service operations—with the ultimate goal of maximizing revenue growth and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities


  • Strategic Sales & Business Development

    • Drive monthly sales to consistently meet or exceed budget targets.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and industry stakeholders.

    • Lead strategic negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and partnerships.

  • Financial

    & Revenue Management

    • Own and manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement for the HVAC division.

    • Monitor and control operational costs to maintain profitability.

    • Manage the sales pipeline to ensure sustainable business growth.

  • End-to-End Project Management

    • Lead and oversee all HVAC projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.

    • Manage procurement and monitor importation timelines to support project needs.

    • Attend key project meetings to resolve design or approval bottlenecks.

    • Enforce adherence to company policies, especially safety, material handling, and installation standards.

    • Track project valuations, certifications, and cash flow throughout the project cycle.

    • Liaise directly with clients to expedite payment approvals and resolve outstanding balances, including retentions.

    • Ensure timely handover of completed projects and follow up on pending payments post-handover.

  • Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization

    • Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile inventory variations.

    • Reduce dead stock and implement movement strategies for slow-moving items.

  • Service & Breakdown Operations

    • Grow service revenue across the region and ensure monthly targets are met.

    • Track and report service operations to maintain high responsiveness and customer satisfaction.

  • Leadership & Team Development

    • Inspire and lead a high-performing team, driving accountability and results.

    • Oversee performance management and support continuous staff development in alignment with company goals.

  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports on engineering and project operations.

    • Generate accurate sales forecasts and contribute quarterly board reports on unit performance.


Requirements


Qualifications & Experience


  • Education
    : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience
    : Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in the HVAC industry.

  • Core Expertise
    : Strong background in HVAC business development, design, project delivery, and leadership.

  • Client Relations
    : Proven experience in building and managing customer relationships.
