Job Description


Take full accountability for the overall performance and efficiency of the Lae Branch

Lead, mentor, and supervise department heads

Drive operational excellence through planning, tracking, and implementation

Ensure alignment of daily operations with broader company goals

Oversee compliance with safety, regulatory, and customs requirements

Serve as the senior point of contact for major clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Apply Lean thinking to identify inefficiencies and implement practical operational improvements

Build and maintain strong relationships with major clients, suppliers, and key industry stakeholders

Represent Swift Agencies in meetings with senior executives and decision-makers from major international companies

Support business development through relationship building and identifying new opportunities.


Requirements


Conversational English (Conversational in Chinese Preferred but not necessary)

Experience in cartage, freight forwarding, or export logistics is a must

Proven experience in logistics, operations, or transport management

Strong leadership with a practical, hands-on management style

Comfortable making decisions with limited resources and support

Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Sheets

Adaptable and well-suited for a rugged, fast-paced work environment

Preferably from a rural or regional background.

Willingness to be based in Lae, Papua New Guinea

Proven experience in Customs Brokerage is essential

Comfortable engaging with senior executives and representing the company in high-level discussions

Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive management style

Hands-on leader who is willing to work closely with operational teams

Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies is highly

desirable

Experience managing or developing key client relationships is highly valued.
