Purpose of the role:

This role offers the opportunity to lead a key Weir ESCO operation with full ownership of performance, people, and customer outcomes. As Branch Manager in Middelburg, you will shape strategy, drive growth, and make a visible impact in a business that values accountability and initiative. You’ll work closely with customers in a critical mining region while leading a capable, experienced team. It’s an opportunity for a hands‑on leader to grow a business and their career within a global organisation.

What you’ll do:

• Effective management of all aspects of the branch to ensure achievement of revenue targets.
• Develop and implement sales strategy and plan to support the achievement of revenue targets.
• Provide technical and other support to District Managers and Customers.
• Ensure effective use of sales systems in the territory.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

• Relevant National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mining Operations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the mining industry, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of the local mining industry is essential, including understanding of customer operations and site requirements.
• Demonstrated technical familiarity with Mining GET, dragline rigging, and chains, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a commercial and operational environment. Strong knowledge of the local coal mining industry.
• Proven leadership capability with experience managing operational teams, contractors, and customer interfaces in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Sound commercial and financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and P&L accountability at branch or operational level.
