Job Description

Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for a Brake Press Operator to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience with CNC machines, and the ability to read blueprints.

You must reside n the Greater Toronto Area and have a valid work permit.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position will:

  • read and interpret engineering drawings with emphasis on dimensions and perspectives
  • determine and plan the sequence of operations
  • follow verbal and written instructions of numerical dimensions and tolerances
  • set up, operate, and maintain machining tools
  • load and unload material
  • align and adjust punches and dies as required
  • lay-out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
  • maintain proper tolerances; make appropriate adjustments for angles and dimensions
  • cut and fit material for assembly using powered saws, shears, bending, or punching machine
  • inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances using precision measuring instruments
  • anticipate and troubleshoot challenges
  • assist the machining shop with other related projects as needed
  • ensure fabrication is done to a high-quality standard and according to schedule

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • experience in setup and operation of CNC brake press
  • physical abilities to move metal and other materials
  • a strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • familiarity with using measuring tools to confirm dimensional accuracy
  • experience working with sheet metal
  • knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
