Job Description
The BQT.CTR - Houseperson is responsible for supporting banquet, catering, and event operations by setting up, breaking down, cleaning, and maintaining event spaces according to company standards. This role ensures meeting rooms, banquet areas, storage spaces, and service areas are organized, clean, safe, and properly prepared for guests and team members.
- Set up and break down banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and event areas according to Banquet Event Orders.
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, staging, linens, dance floors, podiums, AV equipment, and other event-related items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, storage rooms, service corridors, and back-of-house spaces.
- Assist banquet servers, captains, and managers during event service as needed.
- Replenish water stations, supplies, linens, glassware, and other event materials.
- Remove trash, debris, and used service items from event areas promptly and safely.
- Clean spills, vacuum, sweep, mop, and perform general cleaning before, during, and after events.
- Ensure all equipment is stored properly and report damaged or missing items.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies and procedures.
- Provide professional, courteous service to guests, clients, vendors, and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, banquet, event, housekeeping, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow event setup instructions or diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate professionally with team members and supervisors.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to move banquet tables, chairs, carts, staging, and event equipment safely.
- Must be able to work in a physically active environment for extended periods.
