The Wentworth Training Program provides vocational opportunities for Boston Public School students, ages 18-22, who receive special education services. This community-based vocational training program offers pathways to internships, externships, employment, and postgraduate opportunities in fields such as Facilities Management, Hospitality, Customer Service, Business Management, and Public Works (recycling). This program provides authentic work experience, where students are assigned job titles, work IDs, receive evaluations, and are eligible for pay raises. We set high expectations for all learners, ensuring that our community-based partners receive the best of BPS students. As a professional contractor, we are accountable for results. Student tasks and evaluations focus not only on personal growth but also on productivity in contracted work. The program maximizes student learning by allowing students to set goals for their personal development and mastery of projects and skills.
Perform hands-on facilities maintenance and upkeep of assigned campus buildings, common areas, and workspaces to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments. Collect, sort, transport, and properly dispose of recycling and waste materials throughout Wentworth campus buildings. Assist Facilities staff with moving supplies and equipment, setting up spaces, and completing basic daily building service tasks. Maintain recycling stations and assist with indoor and outdoor campus cleanup, sustainability, and beautification efforts. Participate in civic engagement and city beautification activities efforts of the Boston City Youth Corps through assigned activities at the Wentworth Institute of Technology campus.

Public service is a noble calling: to help others, to make our communities stronger, and to uphold the public trust.
As city employees, we see the results of our hard work in our own community— in street and infrastructure improvements, new buildings rising from the ground, safer and more prosperous neighborhoods, and happier, healthier children, families, and senior citizens.
We may all come from different backgrounds, but we are connected through our passion for service.
What we do at work today, and everyday, shapes the Boston of tomorrow.
