Job Description

The STRIVE program provides vocational opportunities for Boston Public School students, ages 18-22, who receive special education services. This is a school-based/community-based vocational training program that leads to internships, externships, supported employment, and other postgraduate opportunities in various fields. It offers authentic work experiences where students gain real-life skills, including both soft skills and hard skills development, along with coaching. Our program sets high expectations for all learners, encouraging students to engage in work skills that may not otherwise be available to them. We also operate sites at various high schools during the school year.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Students learn hard skills related to the vocational area they are employed in - Job duties are specific to the vocational area, including: - JR Custodian Career Exploration - Maintenance/Landscaping - Culinary - Auto Detailing - Horticulture - Cosmetology - Business Tech - Graphic Design

The Ideal Candidate for this Job

- Youth are expected to arrive on time - Follow directions given by staff - Maintain appropriate behavior at the worksite - Complete assigned tasks to the best of their ability - Remain with the group during all activities
