Job Description

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Youth Development Professional for Shawnee Boys and Girls Club located in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the standard rules and techniques of athletic sports such as baseball, basketball, and football.
Ability to build effective and positive relationships with people of all ages.
Ability to lead and motivate people participating in recreational activities.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D., and six months experience coaching and supervising athletic events and experience maintaining grounds, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities.
Certifications/Licenses
Valid State C.D.L. License
First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) medical examiner’s certificate for drivers.
Certificate of Driver’s Road Test for applicable vehicles.
Physical Requirements
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
