Job Description

The Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT) seeks a Box Office/Visitor Services Manager for its flexible 180-270 seat performance space in of the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex in downtown Los Angeles. This full-time, nonexempt position reports to the Deputy Executive Director & Curator and is responsible for managing, developing, and implementing creative and efficient ticketing operations, visitor experience, and customer-service driven systems for phone, web and walk-up ticket sales.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee all aspects of ticketing services, on-line and in person, including subscription packages, memberships and single ticket sales.
  • Serve as front-end coordinator for box office and show and event attendants, as an articulate spokesperson interfacing with REDCAT patrons and visitors.
  • Track ticketing and audience data, financial records, and box office statistics to provide routine reporting for marketing and fundraising efforts.
  • Hire, train and manage additional box office and front-end staff as needed.
  • Work with production team and relevant managers to assure a streamlined night-of-show experience for the audience.

REQUIREMENTS:

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated passion for contemporary performance and visual art.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lead and supervise while working effectively within a team.
  • Excellent customer service and phone skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Spanish language skills a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years' experience working in a professional non-profit box office.
  • Experience with ticketing and management computer systems such as Audience View and Tessitura.
