Howrah & Clarence | Kalis Hospitality Group

Permanent – Full Time | Tasmania

We have Bottleshop Manager opportunities available across our venues in Howrah and Clarence, and we’re looking for experienced retail leaders to step in and make these roles their own. These positions have become available due to internal movements and departures, and we’re ready to welcome the right people into our team.

We operate a diverse range of bottleshops – from busy community stores to premium liquor destinations – and we’re open to candidates whose skills and experience are the right fit for our different store environments. Whether your strength is in operational efficiency, premium product expertise, or building loyal local communities, we’d love to hear from you.

In these roles you’ll take ownership of day-to-day operations, drive sales and compliance, and build a positive, high-performing team culture. This is a leadership role that will include a mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, coach and roster a team to deliver outstanding customer service every day
  • Oversee day-to-day bottleshop operations including stock management, merchandising and POS systems
  • Educate your team and customers about liquor and wine options, staying current on industry trends
  • Manage stock ordering, rotation and stock control to maintain availability and minimise loss
  • Ensure the store is always well-presented with strong promotional displays
  • Manage staff rosters and wage costs, and assist with recruitment and training
  • Build strong customer relationships to ensure every visit is a great one
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing requirements and company policies

What You Will Bring

We’re open to candidates from a range of retail backgrounds. You might be an experienced bottleshop manager, a senior liquor retail specialist, or a strong retail leader looking to step into a drinks-focused role. What matters most is:

  • Previous management experience in retail liquor, supermarket or similar fast-paced retail environment.
  • Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Be a great communicator and able to build strong rapport with both customers and staff.
  • Have a deep understanding of liquor and wine, and be excited to share your knowledge with customers and the team.
  • Confidently handle customer inquiries, concerns, and high-pressure situations with professionalism.
  • Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
  • Be available across 7 days, including evening shifts, and have flexibility with your schedule.
