Key Responsibilities

The Bosun (Deck Foreman) acts as the primary supervisor for all deck ratings, responsible to the Chief Officer for the safe and efficient execution of daily maintenance and deck operations. This leadership role involves instructing Able and Ordinary Seamen, ensuring all work—particularly high-risk tasks like enclosed space entry, hot work, or working aloft—is performed strictly according to company safety policies and under proper authorization. Additionally, the Bosun manages deck tools, equipment, and stores, ensuring they are well-maintained and adequately stocked.
