Job Description

Under to the coordination of the Borough Operations Coordinator, The Liaison for immediate responses to Emergent services and Community Education. The liaison works collaboratively with the Coordinator to ensure efficient service delivery, evaluate constituent concerns, liaise with city agencies on immediate concerns, and collect information to support policy initiatives as identified by the elected official. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to enhancing government responsiveness for the borough.

Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Response

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and respond to borough-wide emergencies such as:
o Fires
o Retaining wall failures
o Dilapidated cooperative buildings
o Other mass incidents impacting the quality of life

- Work with FDNY, HPD, DOB, NYPD, and emergency response teams to ensure rapid intervention.

- Serve as the point of contact for emergency-related constituent concerns.

- Track emergency response times, resolution rates, and interagency coordination effectiveness.

Non-Emergency Infrastructure & Community Programming Liaison
Key Responsibilities:

- Address non-emergency infrastructure issues including:
o Broken streetlights
o Potholes
o Water main breaks
o Open fire hydrants
o Building-wide gas outages
o Transit operational outages (not individual complaints

- Work with Department of Sanitation, DOT, NY Water Board, MTA, HPD, DOB, and TLC to ensure service delivery.

- Oversee community programming initiatives such as:
o Fire safety workshops
o Heat preparedness programs
o City sanitation initiatives

- Engage with Community Boards and local organizations to address concerns.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
