About the Role
The Bookkeeping & Outsource Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with Australian payroll, tax, and superannuation regulations. This role combines technical payroll expertise with leadership, client management, and team supervision. The Bookkeeping Manager will ensure accurate and timely payroll and bookkeeping processing, mentor and manage a bookkeeping/payroll team, and maintain strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities
Financial & Operational
• Manage the end-to-end bookkeeping process for a diverse client portfolio.
Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and payroll tax returns.

Client Relationship Management
• Develop strong, trusted relationships with clients, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs and goals.
• Partner with managers to deliver insights and solutions that create value.
Leadership & Team Development
• Supervise, mentor and support junior bookkeepers, providing guidance and feedback.
• Team Leadership & Workflow Management.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
• Demonstrate professionalism, precision, and a commitment to excellence.
Minimum 5 years’ Payroll & Bookkeeping experience, ideally within a client-facing or outsourced finance setting.
We’re looking for a confident, detail-oriented professional passionate about bookkeeping excellence.
• Minimum 5 years’ Payroll & Bookkeeping experience, ideally in a client-facing or outsourced finance setting.
• Strong knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB, Employment Hero or similar).
• Excellent understanding of payroll and bookkeeping compliance requirements.
Proficiency with Australian tax legislation and reporting standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong client engagement skills.
