Job Description

A new Practice Bookkeeper role that offers the variety of workload, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to work with a range of businesses.

This role can be a stepping stone to more advanced positions within the company or you may be an established Bookkeeper looking to work with a wider client base. The managers are really great to work for, as they offer a hands-on and supportive environment and love staff who are willing, eager and can demonstrate the capability to learn and progress.

Salary Range: 26k for Bookkeeping Juniors, up to £32k per annum.

Practice or Industry Bookkeepers are considered

This new Bookkeeping / Assistant Accountant position offers the following:-

1. Diverse Client Base: Across small businesses to large corporations, offering exposure to different sectors, industries and financial structures.

2. Career Progression: Our public practice client offers career paths with opportunities for advancement to senior and management positions.

  • Specialisation in areas like tax or audit also becomes possible.

3. Accounting Software:

  • It would be preferable for you to have used accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks or similar as well as good Microsoft Excel skills.

4. Customer Interaction:

  • You will often serve as the point of contact for clients, building relationships and resolving any queries.
  • We are looking for good communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • This direct interaction with your clients can be rewarding and fulfilling.

5. Duties:

  • The main duties of this bookkeeping position are:

dealing with invoices, income, receipts and payments.

preparing statements to show income and payments.

completion VAT returns.

checking that accounts are accurate.

managing claims for expenses.

using computerised accounting systems.

6. Flexible work approach:

  • A mix of office based and client based roles available, with a flexi time operation
  • Please note that this is not a remote or hybrid role and we are looking for candidates within a 15/20 mile radius of Bolton.
