We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper / Payroll Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and payroll, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and processing payroll for our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
- Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and process payroll for employees on a bi-weekly basis
- Review and reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns and other related tax forms
- Communicate with vendors and employees regarding payment and payroll inquiries
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues in financial records
- Support the accounting team with other tasks and projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in bookkeeping and payroll
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of payroll and tax regulations
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting is a plus
