Job Description


An established investment company is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with hospitality industry exposure to manage the day-to-day financial administration of multiple restaurant entities. The role includes full bookkeeping responsibilities together with payroll administration and requires someone comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment. The candidate must have strong Xero experience and be proficient in SimplePay for payroll processing.
This is a full-time role based in Sandton, Monday - Friday (8am - 4 pm)


Key Responsibilities


  • Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance

  • Managing financial records across multiple hospitality entities

  • Bank, credit card, and payment platform reconciliations

  • Capturing and maintaining transactions in Xero

  • Reconciling restaurant POS sales and daily revenue

  • Assisting with month-end financial close

  • Processing and administering monthly payroll through SimplePay

  • Managing PAYE, UIF, SDL deductions and payroll compliance

  • Handling employee payroll records, leave balances, and payroll queries


Requirements


Key Requirements

  • 3–5+ years' bookkeeping experience

  • Related tertiary qualification

  • Hospitality or restaurant industry experience preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of Xero

  • Experience processing payroll on SimplePay

  • Good understanding of South African payroll and tax compliance

  • Strong reconciliation and administrative skills

  • Ability to manage multiple entities and high transaction volumes
