Are
you a Sage Pastel expert with a decade of bookkeeping experience? Our client, a
well-established construction company is looking for a meticulous and detailed
orientated Bookkeeper to join their professional team and take full ownership of
the accounts function through to Trial Balance.

Responsibilities:

Maintain
the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance, ensuring all ledgers are
accurate and current.

·
Process
and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, specifically managing
construction-related supplier accounts.

·
Execute
monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and monitor daily cash
flow.

·
Manage
subcontractor payments, ensuring tax compliance and accurate record-keeping.

·
Prepare
and submit statutory returns, including VAT and PAYE, ensuring full compliance
with South African tax legislation.

·
Oversee
the fixed asset register and process monthly depreciation journals.

·
Assist
with the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end audit files.

·
Monitor
project-specific costs to assist management with budget-to-actual variance
analysis.

·
Accurate
capturing of financial data.

Requirements

·
A
tertiary financial qualification would be an advantage

·
Minimum
of 10 years’ experience in a dedicated Bookkeeping or Accounting role.

·
Experience
as a Bookkeeper within the Construction industry is preferred

·
Working
knowledge of Pastel Accounting

·
Advanced
working knowledge of MS Excel

·
Strong
analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve financial
discrepancies.

·
Exceptional
organisational skills and the ability to work to tight month-end deadlines.
