Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bookkeeper to support a UK-based employer in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a South African professional who is organised, proactive, and confident working with UK teams remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the recording of financial transactions, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and expense tracking
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders across time zones
• Maintain accurate records of financial data, VAT submissions, and compliance documentation
• Use relevant tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting platforms
• Support the wider team with month-end close, payroll preparation, and financial reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping accuracy and financial process efficiency

Qualifications and Experience

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
• Able to work independently and manage your own time effectively
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Experience working with UK-based financial environments or employers is advantageous
• Must have a reliable laptop, stable internet connection, and a quiet working environment

Salary: R28,000/month | 100% Remote
