Job Description


A well-established
Pretoria North–based NPO

is seeking a qualified and experienced Bookkeeper to join its finance team. This hybrid role requires
1–2 days per week in-office

, with flexibility for remote work on remaining days. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance, and supporting sound financial decision-making across the organisation. This role is suited for a Bookkeeper fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English looking to grow their bookkeeping experience.


Key responsibilities:


  • Preparation and review of financial statements, balance sheets, and reporting.


  • Management of debtors, creditors, and bank statements.


  • Handling of month-end and year-end closing processes.


  • Development and implementation of internal controls.


  • Assistance with budget preparation and financial planning.


  • Balance sheet reconciliations.


  • Collaboration with internal and external audit processes.


  • Training and support of bookkeeping and administrative staff.


  • Strong organisational and time management skills.


Requirements


  • Pastel Partner

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience in a financial environment.

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Pastel Partner).

  • MS Excel

  • Full service bookkeeping required

  • Cashbook, trial balance, financial statements

  • Experience with year end and monthly closing

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Need to be fluent in Afrikaans written and spoken
