The Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team and take ownership of our daily financial operations. Working closely with our external finance partners, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and accurately.

What you will be responsible for

• Oversee and manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Process and track invoices (accounts payable and receivable)
• Record and categorise company expenses, including Pleo and credit card usage
• Support payroll and expense processing in coordination with our finance providers
• Process payroll and other scheduled payments in a timely manner
• Generate and maintain regular financial reports (P&L, cash flow, etc.)
• Allocating specific costs to each department on the P&L, ensuring expense allocation and reporting is in line with the company’s budget
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accounting software (Netsuite)
• Collaborate on financial audits, funding activities, and investor reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and finance policies
• Spot opportunities for automation and improved financial workflows
• Manage VAT accounting and reporting, and any other HMRC submissions

Skills & Experience

Essential Qualifications

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, finance admin, or accounting support
• Proficient with Spendesk, Netsuite (or similar accounting tools) and Microsoft
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Clear communication and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of UK finance and tax regulations

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment
