Job Description

Sofar is creating space where music matters. Our unique live experiences provide a place for artist discovery, local community and connection in non-traditional, unexpected places across 78 countries and growing. Through our artist services, we provide tools and services for artists to directly connect with fans and build sustainable, creative lives on their own terms.

Our work is largely inspired by our values:

  • Creativity: We exist to support artists. We empower everyone in the Sofar community to bring their own creative energy to connect artists and audiences.

  • Community: We come together to create the spaces where music matters, intentionally welcoming and respecting all music lovers around the world.

  • Joy: We believe in the transformative, unifying, and joyful power of experiencing live music together.

Our global Sofar team is deeply passionate about music and the work we do. When we’re not working, you can probably find us at a live show or telling anyone in earshot about the new song we can’t stop listening to. Discovering and supporting artists gets us out of bed every morning – and knowing that we’re creating memorable, intimate fan experiences worldwide drives our work forward.

The Role

As the Bookings and Operations Coordinator for our Sofar London market, you’ll be responsible for venue booking and logistics from start to finish, ensuring operational excellence across Sofar discovery and private shows. You will be responsible for sourcing world class venues, coordinating a complex show schedule (30-40 shows per month) across different neighbourhoods, booking crew & audio requirements, and ensuring key information is available for marketing and our incredible freelance crew team.

As the first point of contact for our venue partners, you will be responsible for negotiating partnerships with unique and cultural spaces across London and supporting our freelance producers with their show operations.

You will work in partnership with the London Artist Booker, and be supported by the Bookings and Operations assistant, to deliver incredible experiences for Sofar fans.

Alongside our day-to-day shows, you will have the opportunity to sell and execute private shows and build out a commercial portfolio, as well be a key contributor to our annual Sofar Fringe festival.

Reporting into the GM of London, you’ll join a team of passionate, creative folks that are ensuring the success of thousands of Sofar shows around the world. This is a phenomenal opportunity for someone who lives and breathes live events, has commercial acumen and is deeply plugged into London’s creative and cultural scene. If you’ve got an eye for a unique venue, an understanding of live event and production logistics, and a passion for building real community through music, we encourage you to apply.

Please note that this position is based in London.

About Sofar Sounds

Sofar is a global community reimagining the art of live experiences—turning unconventional spaces into intimate showcases for local grassroots art and culture.

Born in a London flat in 2009, Sofar began as an answer to a growing problem: live music had lost its magic. It blossomed into a global movement that kept music at its heart while expanding to comedy, dating, food & drink, dance, and more—all connected by Sofar’s renowned track record for discovering rising talent. Countless mainstage performers like Billie Eilish, Jack Harlow, Chappell Roan, Leon Bridges, YEBBA, Teddy Swims, Remi Wolf, Hozier, and Lola Young have played Sofar shows early in their careers. In the past four years alone, Sofar alumni have earned 129 Grammy nominations and 21 wins.

Each Sofar show is one-of-a-kind due to the surprising pairing of live experiences with unconventional spaces. Sofar has hosted shows in caves; churches; hidden museum rooms; private living rooms, gardens, and rooftops; a ski jump tower; countless boats, ships, and catamarans; a toy shop; a wax museum; and many other delightful places.

With a network of over 10,000 venues and tens of thousands of extraordinary emerging artists, Sofar creates live performances in spaces that reflect the soul of neighborhoods and cities. Past partners include 20th Century Fox, Anheuser-Busch, Arc'teryx, Delta, Focus Features, Ford, Lexus, Lyft, Pernod Ricard, Sierra Nevada, Showtime, Sony, Visa, and many others.
