Job Location: Manteo, NC 27954, Booking Desk Agent & Slip Management Coordinator

Position Type: Full-Time (On-Site, Desk Position)

Pay Rate: $17.00 – $20.00 / hour

Benefits: Optional Retirement Plan (Includes PTO)

Schedule: 5 days/week (Weekend availability required)

• Off-Season: ~35 hours/week (Standard shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; may occasionally require an 8:00 AM start once a week)
• In-Season / Summer: 40+ hours/week (Summer shift: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Position Overview

Pirate’s Cove Marina is seeking a flexible, team-oriented, and customer-focused Booking Agent & Slip Management Coordinator. This multi-faceted desk role combines charter booking operations with marina slip reservations. You will serve as a central communication hub connecting charter guests, boat captains, dock staff, and slip renters. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment and maintains an open-minded, "all hands-on deck" attitude—ready to assist with various store tasks like checking out customers or keeping things tidy whenever needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Charter Booking & Captain Coordination
• Serve as the main contact for incoming phone calls, emails, and text inquiries using our unified communication platform.
• Educate prospective guests on charter options, help them select and book the right trip, and process payments from charter guests.
• Maintain daily communication with captains regarding scheduled trips, departure times, documentation, and specific boat needs.
• Act as the direct link between captains, dockhands, and fish cleaners to ensure smooth arrival and operational support.
• Track and maintain up-to-date captain documentation, including USCG licenses, credentials, and insurance certificates.
• Format and post quick daily fishing updates/reports to our website and partner channels.
• Slip Management & Reservation Coordination
• Manage short-term, seasonal, and tournament reservations for our 195-slip marina (directly coordinating 50–100+ managed slips).
• Communicate closely with slip owners regarding rental availability, intake, and scheduling.
• Process reservations, collect payments, and manage check-in/check-out procedures for short-term and seasonal renters.
• Learn marina layout and pricing structures to accurately assign slips in close coordination with the Marina Manager.
• Maintain regular reporting to the Marina Manager on slip inventory, dock availability, and owner preferences.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Prior hospitality or customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• Teamwork & Attitude: Strong team player who communicates well with co-workers, management, captains, and customers. Must be open-minded and willing to jump in on various store or office tasks.
• Comfort at the Desk: Must be comfortable manning a front desk for full shifts.
• Tech-Savvy: Solid typing skills and comfortable using computer software. Experience with Microsoft Office required; familiarity with Canva, Dockwa, SmarterCharters, or Helpwise is a bonus, though we are happy to train a quick learner.
• Communication & Organization: Excellent phone etiquette and written communication skills with strong attention to detail regarding documentation and scheduling.
