Bond Accounting & Procurement Specialist
Performs low to mid-level accounting functions and supports procurement activities specific to the 2024 Bond. Researches the appropriate accounting treatment of bond-related transactions, maintains financial records for bond capital projects, and supports the procurement of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) goods and services for bond-funded projects. Acts as a liaison between Accounting, Budget, Transportation, IT, Security, Contracting, and Construction, and collaborates with the Strategic Sourcing team, suppliers, and stakeholders to procure goods and services vital to bond initiatives. Independently performs a narrow range of professional accounting and procurement work and may prepare reports and related schedules for the District. Develops and promotes strong professional relations among district staff, community members, and school clientele.This position is funded for 4 to 5 years.
Requires travel within district using personal vehicle.

Review financial documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established District policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Maintain accurate and organized records of accounting and procurement activity, including capital project accounts, contracts, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
Support the procurement of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) goods and services vital to bond-funded initiatives.
Maintain fiscal and fund integrity of financial information by performing monthly reconciliations, variance analyses, and review of assigned funds, and reconcile account balances to owner representatives.
Serve as a liaison to internal departments and suppliers to identify needs and priorities, build positive working relationships, and perform other related duties or special projects as assigned by the Department Manager or Director.
Assist in negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers and provide input on procurement strategies that improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness for the District.
Perform bond-related research to determine the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions, and develop and recommend accounting procedures to management as appropriate.
Maintain the General Ledger for 2024 Bond capital project activities, including reviewing or preparing journal entries and resolving problems associated with incorrect entries.
Provide reports to Budget, Construction, Finance, and Strategic Sourcing, and monitor and report on activity to ensure compliance with bond funding requirements.
Assist in the preparation and execution of RFx processes (RFPs, RFQs, RFQuals, RFIs) and support the evaluation of vendor proposals and supplier selection, ensuring compliance with District policies and legal standards.
