What’s the Role:

This role is ideal for a qualified Boilermaker/Welder looking for the opportunity to work in a heavy fabrication environment supporting mining equipment.

You’ll be responsible for the fabrication and refurbishment of components, including chutes and buckets, ensuring all work meets drawing specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Reporting to the Leading Hand, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality fabrication outcomes while supporting production targets and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Impact:

  • Mark out, prepare materials and weld prep to required tolerances and specifications Fabricate and weld components including chutes and buckets to engineering drawings

  • Carry out refurbishment and repair work on returned mining equipment

  • Operate fabrication equipment such as rollers, presses, and bevelling tools safely and efficiently

  • Perform welding, grinding, cutting, and drilling activities as required

  • Complete production paperwork, time sheets, and technical documentation accurately

  • Participate in pre-starts and toolbox meetings, contributing positively to team outcomes

  • Promote a strong safety culture and report hazards, incidents, and risks promptly

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and efficient use of resources

You Bring:

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade

  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker/Welder in a heavy fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment

  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Experience with welding, grinding, cutting, and fabrication processes

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Preferred:

  • Forklift Licence

  • Dogman or Rigging tickets

  • Working at Heights ticket

  • Experience operating fabrication machinery (pressing, rolling, bevelling equipment)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
