This position is responsible for helping create and deliver an exceptional guest dining experience by ensuring passionate, accurate, sanitary, and efficient food preparation at all times.
The Cook will assist in the efficient operations of the kitchen while ensuring guests receive consistent, high-quality food products. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, teamwork, and strong organizational skills are essential to delivering superior service.
Wage: $17.60 - $22.60 + gratuities
Placement within the hiring range is based on skills, experience and accomplishments in comparable roles
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in the efficient operations of the kitchen to ensure customers receive superior service and consistent, quality meals
• Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Follow recipes, food preparation instructions, cooking procedures, and proper food portioning
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Clean and maintain all kitchen areas, including counters, equipment, and utensils
• Sweep and mop floors and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness to ensure a sanitary work environment
• Store food and ingredients properly and handle leftover food according to food safety guidelines
• Utilize a wide range of kitchen equipment, utensils, and knives safely and efficiently
• Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Support kitchen operations by completing prep work and assisting team members when required
• Complete repetitive kitchen tasks with a consistent level of quality and attention to detail
• Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need as a Cook
Experience
1+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant or fast-paced kitchen environment preferred
Education
• Secondary School Diploma preferred
• Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent
Other Qualifications
• Demonstrated commitment and passion for maximizing guest satisfaction through quality food preparation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and consistency are critical
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Strong attention to detail in food handling safety, food preparation, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as cooperatively within a team environment
• Ability to follow direction and take supervision regarding multiple kitchen and food preparation duties
• Ability to safely use a variety of kitchen knives and equipment
• Ability to learn and perform basic kitchen tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to quality, hospitality, and maintaining professional composure during busy service periods
• Must be able to work all shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Completion of Public Health Food Handler Certification considered an asset
