Salary: $48,000 to $65,000

The Body Shop Service Writer is responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing repair estimates, coordinating with insurance companies, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the repair process. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers, insurance partners, and the collision repair team to ensure timely, high-quality repairs and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect damaged vehicles and prepare detailed, accurate repair estimates using approved estimating systems.
  • Communicate repair recommendations, timelines, and costs to customers and insurance representatives.
  • Coordinate repair orders with technicians to ensure proper parts, labor, and materials are identified and documented.
  • Monitor repair progress and provide customers with regular status updates.
  • Negotiate and supplement estimates with insurance carriers as needed.
  • Maintain complete and accurate repair documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Support departmental goals related to productivity, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Collision Estimator, Body Shop Writer, or related collision repair role.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as CCC ONE, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of collision repair procedures, vehicle construction, parts identification, and insurance claim processes.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple repair orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and estimating practices.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug screening.

Additional Information

Compensation:

  • $48,000 to $65,000

Schedule:

  • Full Time
  • Monday through Saturday availability
  • Sundays off
