Job Title: Body Shop Technician

 

Core Function

The Body Shop Technician is responsible for performing repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer, distributor, and company quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• At least 2 CSEC/O-Level subjects
• Certification in Auto Technology, Engineering, or a related field (local or international)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic computer literacy
• Strong time management skills
• Pleasant, courteous, and professional attitude
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs in accordance with established quality and efficiency standards
• Review and understand all repair estimates prior to and during vehicle servicing
• Read and execute job cards accurately, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines
• Order and verify materials and parts, ensuring proper accountability and safe handling
• Ensure no unauthorized parts are installed without proper approval and documentation
• Carry out compounding and polishing as required
• Communicate any additional work requirements to the Workshop Supervisor or Estimator
• Clarify all tasks before commencing work
• Conduct quality control checks using standard procedures and document findings
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment
• Adhere to all safety protocols and report any issues immediately
• Assist with additional departmental duties as assigned by management
