Body Collision & Paint Repair Worker/ODOT Mechanic, PN 20060799What You Will Do:Inspecting vehicles: Assessing damage and determining the extent of repairs needed.Removing damaged parts: Including bumpers, fenders, hoods, and other restore the vehicle's surface.Repairing dent and scratches: Using fillers, hammers, and other tools to restore the vehicle's surface.Fitting and welding replacement parts: Using welding equipment to attach and repair damaged areas.Smoothing repaired surfaces: Sanding and grinding to prepare the area for painting.Painting and refinishing: Applying primer, base coats, and clear coats to achieve a desired finish.Aligning frames and structures: Using equipment to restore the vehicle's structural integrity.Installing glass and windshields: Replacing or repairing damaged windshields and other glass.Perform preventative maintenance and service on cars, trucks, and equipment.Perform minor repairs or other related mechanical work.Maintain records of repairs & maintenance. Job Skills: AutomotiveSupplemental InformationValid Class A CDL without air brake restriction, with tanker endorsement must be obtained during probationary period & maintained thereafter.The selection process for this position will include a structured interview. Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
