Job Description

The Boat Crew Member will be responsible for ensuring the vessel is prepared, safe, and well-maintained while delivering excellent service to guests and team members. This role demands attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and hospitality.

  • Ensure the vessel is adequately stocked with diesel, engine oil, and gear oil before each trip as a precautionary measure.
  • Perform routine checks on the vessel's equipment and systems to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Report any technical or mechanical issues to the Boat Captain promptly.
  • Assist in preparing the vessel for departures, including loading equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure the safety and protection of all passengers on board by adhering to safety protocols.
  • Communicate politely with guests and team members, offering assistance and guidance as required.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive experience for passengers.
  • Assist the Boat Captain in the safe and efficient embarkation and disembarkation of guests and team members.
  • Handle luggage or equipment with care during transfers.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vessel, ensuring it is always tidy and presentable.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, washing, and removing debris from the deck and seating areas.
  • Take the initiative in completing assigned tasks and assisting with additional duties to ensure smooth operations on the vessel.
  • Support the Boat Captain and other crew members in handling unexpected situations or emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in marine operations or as a boat crew member is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of marine safety protocols and equipment is an advantage.
  • Strong swimming skills; First Aid or CPR certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required.
  • Physically fit and able to perform tasks in a demanding environment.
  • Fluency in English
