Job Description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are now hiring an  Assistant Director of Positive Options in  Nashua, New Hampshire The Assistant Director of Positive Options uses best practices and technology within a community-based setting to teach people with developmental disabilities how to acquire the physical, intellectual,  emotional, and social skills needed to live as independently as possible. This individual must handle the pressure of training in a public environment, exercise patience, work flexibly, and respond to crises. Ingenuity and creativity must  be utilized when determining the best individual training methods, assistance, and support.Starting Salary: 90,000 Annually Now Offering a $2,500 Sign-On Bonus for New Hires  (First pay out after90-day introductory period  and the remainder after 6 - months  per approval)  Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee behavioral support services for adults and children, which includes completing assessments, behavior plans, consultation, brief support implementation services, and protocols
  • Consult with the individual’s support team, medical, mental health, and other practitioners to provide informed behavioral support
  • Conduct initial and ongoing training for direct support staff on implementing behavior plans and protocols
  • Complete observations and treatment integrities with individuals receiving services and staff
  • Dedicate time to the individuals’ receiving services at their homes, day centers, or other community settings
  • Create prevention plans and support plans as needed
  • Conduct supervision meetings with behavioral support staff
  • Conduct an ongoing assessment of progress in all pertinent environments against the individual’s goals, outlined in the individual’s person-centered plan and, if applicable, behavior plan
  • Prepare written progress notes on the individual’s goals, outlined in the individual’s person-centered plan and the behavior plan
  • Serve as an active member of everyone’s team, which includes involvement in plan development
  • Present behavior plans to the Human Rights Committee
  • Flex schedule throughout the week, including evenings and weekends if needed
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or or investigation
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • BCBA preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Have at least one year of clinical experience:
  • Expertise with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Complete all state and agency-required training per state guidelines
  • Team oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience with problem-solving against multiple priorities
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving support
  • Ability to exercise judgment and remain calm in crises
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and collect, interpret, and graph data
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and use common sense
  • Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities
  • Flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels, both internally and externally 
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
